What are we?

A tourist attraction (formerly known as Waiau Waterworks) in the Coromandel showcasing the best of quirky Kiwi ingenuity - we know there is nothing like us in New Zealand nor the world!   View the following programme made by The Hub, and things will make more sense!

What can you do at The Waterworks?

There is something like 1,260,000,000,000,000,000,000 litres of water on earth and we've taken our portion of it and turned it into liquid fun!  Water is used to keep  time on the wooden water clock; watch out though it's often works on Coromandel time.  We've got water cannons to blast away on and bikes that pump H2O.  Our human sized hamster wheel is an absolute hoot and our mad inventions leave people wondering "what the". See more >

  • Petunia our Kune Kune pig is pregnant and expecting her first litter soon....she is a proud Mum-to-be.

  • A new deck has been finished extending the amount of space for the cafe - meaning you can spend as much time as you like enjoying the sunshine and having a long lunch. 
  • We've just finished a couple of new attractions - the DuckRace and Humbugs.....
  • The mouse wheel has been voted one of our most popular activites followed by the water canons!
